Making progress despite the rain

We're in Bourganeuf today, in the Creuse area, which is lovely, heading for Uzerche tomorrow, in the Correze. So far we've done about 450 miles, much of which we have cycled in pouring rain, through the Pas de Calais and the Loire Valley. Yesterday was the worst though as we suffered torrential downpours for hours and of course we had to plough on as there are few chambres d'hotes available.

Points about cycling in France
1. You are never far from a small excitable dog behind a gate.
2. The traffic on the roads has been reasonably light but French drivers suddenly appear in convoy about two metres apart...
3. Most Offices de Tourismes are very helpful.
4. Apparently when you enter a French bar you should shake hands and say Bonjour to all the other customers - haven't really done this yet though properly..

Will try and update this soon.
